Youth Sports

Honoring the Y's Core Values

Y Youth Sports provide participants a fun outlet for their energy and build a foundation for a lifetime of success, fitness and wellness. Our programs foster dedication, confidence, friendly competition, and teach children to collaborate and play well with others. Y Youth Sports programs place priority on healthy competition, the value of participation, a sense of fair play, family involvement, positive self-image and a mutual respect for others.

At the Y, we define success as:

  • Learning age-appropriate sports skills
  • Learning fun ways to stay active
  • Developing good sportsmanship
  • Teaching youth the YMCA Core Values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility

Through Y Youth Sports, youth learn the fundamentals, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and gain confidence that comes from playing with a team. Youth sports at the YMCA of Natrona County are about building the whole child from the inside out.

Y Youth Sports programs are for youth ages 3 years-6th grade (unless otherwise noted). Programs run throughout the year. Please use our Youth Sports Calendar to find registration dates, session dates and other important information about each sport.

Parents and guardians are always encouraged to give back by contributing their time as volunteer coaches – in addition to being their child’s biggest fan! If you are interested in coaching please contact DC Martinez, Sports Director, at dcmartinez@casperfamilyymca.org or fill out the coach section when registering.

*Coaches are required to complete an annual background screening.

What Is Tiny Pros?

Does your kid love running around, tumbling, and burning off their endless energy? Does your toddler show interest in catching, hitting or throwing balls? It might be time to start them in a class or sign them up for a team!

Physical activity encourages mental and emotional development. Tiny Pros offers an opportunity for socialization and practice using fine and gross motor skills. But this doesn’t always mean your toddler is ready for organized sports. Tiny Pros is a great option for toddlers not quite ready for organized sports, as an introduction to organized sports, or as a supplement for YMCA Youth Sports programs.

Tiny Pros is designed as a 5 week program in which participants develop fine and gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and prepare for YMCA organized sports in the future. By developing basic motor skills in a non-competitive environment, Tiny Pros athletes learn to enjoy the sport at a young age. Fun drills and games break down skills and fundamentals needed for future sports participation.
